Mikhail Mikhailovich Miroshnikov (1926– ) was director of the Vavilov State Optical Institute from 1966 to 1989. He developed airborne detection instruments and imaging systems for industrial applications and medical diagnostics in the infrared and far-infrared regions that were used for space investigations.
