Valentin Vital'evich Lebedev (b. 1942), a Russian cosmonaut who participated in two space missions, is a scientist working in geoinformation. Among his books is Diary of a cosmonaut, published in many countries. He is founder and director of the Scientific Geoinformation Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
