The Seine, a major river in France, rises on the Plateau de Langres, close to the city of Dijon. Flowing gently northwestward, it passes the cities of Troyes, Paris and Rouen, before ending at the English Channel near Le Havre. Its tributaries are the Aube, Marne, Oise, Yonne and Eure.
