Salvatore Serio (1941– ) teaches astronomy at Palermo University, specializing in x-ray observations and modeling of solar and stellar coronae. As director of the Palermo Observatory and president of the Italian Astronomical Society, he served as a gracious and generous host for the celebrations of Ceres’ {see planet  (1)} bicentennial.
