Peleus, king of the Myrmidons in Thessaly {see planet  (1161)}, helped Heracles {see planet  (5143)} conquer Troy. He was married to the goddess Thetis {see planet  (17)} — the only instance where a goddess married a mortal. He was also the father of Achilles {see planet  (588)}. Too old to take part in the Trojan War, he gave his golden armor to his son. (M 41031) _ _.
