Pezinok is a small town near Bratislava. The town is known for its wine producing traditions from the thirteenth century. From the fourteenth to nineteenth centuries gold was mined here. It is also the birthplace of the French astronomer Maurice Loevy (1833–1907) and Slovak astronomer Ján Štohl {see planet  (3715)} (1932–1993). (M 45233) _ _.
