Named in honor of Golius, the first professor of astronomy and founder of the Leiden Observatory in 1633. He also bought the quadrant, used by Snellius for his trigonometry of the Netherlands, which is now in the Museum of History and Sciences in Leiden. (I. van Houten-Groeneveld) _ _.
