Hippolochos was the son of Antimachos, the Trojan councillor responsible for preventing Helen from being restored to the Greeks. This brave warrior was killed by Agamemnon. Etymologically, hippo-lochos means “an ambush with a horse”---such as the Trojan Horse. The name was suggested by C. Eschenlohr.
