Iván Almár (b. 1932) is a Hungarian astronomer and space scientist, full member of the IAA, best known for his SETI-related work. He is the originator of the San Marino Scale, co-author of the Rio Scale, and one of the winners of the 2011 annual science communication award of the Club of Hungarian Science Journalists.
