Niklaus (b. 1940) and Ursula (b. 1940) Hasler-Gloor founded the Astronomical Society of Winterthur in 1963. Around 1965, Niklaus developed his first astronomical software. A renowned specialist in statistical analysis of the Swiss public health system, he worked in his medical practice until 2005, with Ursula's support.
