Karel Ančerl (1908–1973) was the head conductor of the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra during 1950–1968. He brought the orchestra to the highest standard by his demands and consistent work. He was an excellent interpreter of the music of the twentieth century and made some of Prague’s best recordings. (M 45341) _ _.
