Rudolf Veltman (1951-2009) was a founding member of the Dutch Meteor Society. Because of a diving accident, he was paralyzed and wheelchair bound. Undeterred, he became leader of the DMS's visual meteor section and wrote articles about meteor showers and visual meteor observations for the society's journal Radiant.
