Gyula Strommer (1920-1995) was a Hungarian mechanical engineer and mathematician, and a full professor of the Budapest University of Technology, where he taught for 53 years. He studied Lobachevsky-Bolyai-Gauss geometry, and he was the discoverer of the minor planet (1537) Transylvania.
