George Salmon (1819–1904) was a fellow in mathematics at Trinity College, Dublin, and later a professor of divinity. Besides doing research on algebraic curves and surfaces, he wrote a series of outstanding textbooks on geometry and higher algebra that were translated into many European languages. (M 45344) _ _.
