Named in memory of Dai Wensai (1911–1979), one of the founders of modern astronomy in China, and director of the astronomy department at Nanjing University from 1955 to 1979. He worked on stellar spectroscopy, stellar astronomy and the origin of the solar system. (M 21608) _ _.
