Riccardo Levi-Setti (b. 1928) is a world-renowned expert on trilobites who has written three editions of his classic work Trilobites (1975, 1993, 2014). He invented the high-resolution scanning ion microprobe. Among his many awards is the Sternberg Award of the Association of Applied Paleontological Sciences.
