German Wilhelm Wien (1864-1928) made contributions to the study of cathode-rays, x-rays and canal-rays and received the Nobel Prize in physics in 1911 for his displacement law concerning the radiation emitted from a blackbody. His autobiography, From the Life and Work of a Physicist, was published in 1930.
