Gian Vincenzo Mora (1870-1953) studied design and architecture at the Istituto di Belle Arti in Venice and worked for companies in Padua and Milan. As an amateur astronomer, he is renowned for his 1909 calculation of the occasions in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries when Jupiter would appear without satellites.
