KANATA, which means “Far Away”, was proposed by the people of Japan for the name of the new 1.5-m telescope of Hiroshima University. The KANATA Telescope is mainly used to observe high-energy phenomena such as optical afterglows of γ-ray bursts. It is also used to show people the beauty and wonder of the universe.
