Named for the German sculptor Wilhelm Lehmbruck (1881–1919). After his education at the Düsseldorf Academy he went to Paris to study with Rodin and Maillol {see planets  (6258) and  (6259)}. All his sculptures are elongated and have thin limbs. Most of his work can be seen in the museum in Duisburg, his birthplace. (M 26766) _ _.
