Abū Naṣr Muḥammad ibn Muḥammad Fārābī (c. 872-c. 951) spent much of his life in Baghdad as a prominent philosopher, scientist and music scholar. He revived and internationalized the Aristotelian tradition, translated the philosopher's works from Greek to Arabic, and preserved and expanded upon them in his own writings.
