Also known as Al-Asturlabiya, Al-'Ijliya was an astrolabe maker who worked in the court of Sayf Al-Dawla, who was the emir of Aleppo from 945 to 967. Her father was also an astrolabe maker, and both were apprentices of Netulus, maker of the oldest surviving astrolabe.
