David Mann (b. 1941) is a sample-preparation expert who produced high-quality thin sections of Apollo moon rocks at NASA Johnson Space Center. He has prepared numerous thin sections of rare meteorites for planetary science research, as well as samples for other fields of study including paleontology and petroleum exploration.
