Japanese amateur astronomer Isshi Tabe (b. 1956) has observed Jupiter and other planets for over 25 years and has published many articles about planets. In 1997 he was given a Magellan Award by the Oriental Astronomical Association. He is also well-known as a planetarium program producer.
