Nils Tamm (1876–1957) studied at Uppsala University in the late 19th century and later at the Royal Academy of Arts in Stockholm. At his private observatory he made observations of variable stars, and he also discovered several novae. His donation made the building of the Kvistaberg {see planet  (3331)} Observatory possible.
