Named for the Italian city of Pistoria, situated about 30 km from Florence at the foot of the western slope of the Central Apennines between Tuscany and Aemilia. Pistoria is the ancient name of the settlement dating to its founding in the second century B.C. by the Romans. (M 32349) _ _.
