Named in honor of the Russian astronomer Vitold Karlovich Ceraski (1849–1925). Born in Slutsk (now in Byelorussia), he graduated from Moscow University and worked for 45 years at the Moscow Observatory. He was director of that observatory for 25 years. Ceraski worked extensively on stellar and solar photometry. (N. S. Chernykh) _ _.
