Leon Max Lederman (b. 1922) is an American particle physicist and 1988 Physics Nobel Laureate. In 1962 he discovered the muon neutrino and in 1977 the bottom quark. Since 1989 he has been director emeritus of the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory, and is the author of The God particle.
