The oldest Russian daily newspaper Sankt-Peter-burgskie Vedomosti (“St. Petersburg News”) was founded in 1728. The great Russian scientist M. V. Lomonosov {see planet (1379)} was one of the first editors-in-chief of the newspaper. The tenth anniversary of the resumption of its publication is celebrated in 2001. (M 43042) _ _.
