Named for the ward in Kobe City where the first discoverer was born and lives. Tarumi is depicted in eighth-century Japanese poems, and it is also an obsolete word for waterfall. The world’s longest suspension bridge, connecting Tarumi with the Awaji Island, was completed in 1998. (M 35492) _ _.
