A child prodigy, the Spanish composer and pianist Isaac Albéniz (1860–1909) studied at the conservatories of Leipzig and Brussels. In Paris he was influenced by Vincent d’Indy and Paul Dukas. His fame rests chiefly on his piano music, notably the suite Iberia, which was colored by the spirit of Spanish folk music. (M 36948) _ _.
