Julius Blüthner (1824–1910) founded a piano factory in Leipzig {see planet  (10775)} in 1853. His instruments found high recognition because of their sonority, tone color and several technical innovations. The name Blüthner inspired friends of music around the world. Despite the elements of mass production, every piano remained a work of art. (M 38200) _ _.
