Eltjo Wubbena (b. 1947) was president of the NVWS, the Dutch popular-astronomy society, from 1975 to 1985. He observed variable stars for many years and promoted international contacts between amateur astronomers. Name suggested by H. van Woerden and A. van de Brugge.
