John Tebbutt (1834–1916) was an Australian astronomer whose observations included many comets and the 1874 transit of Venus. His name is particularly associated with the great comets of 1861 and 1881. He was the first president of the New South Wales branch of the British Astronomical Association. (M 41385) _ _.
