During the Apollo 12 mission to Oceanus Procellarum Alan LaVerne Bean (b. 1932) became the fourth person to set foot on the lunar surface. Since leaving the space program, he has devoted himself to documenting his and his fellow astronauts' experiences through his spectacular artwork.
