Jean Paul (Friedrich Richter, 1763–1825) was a German writer and poet. His novels and stories are in an ebullient baroque style, but with philosophical humor, juxtaposing idealism and reality. He lived a short time in Weimar {see planet (3539)} and related his impressions there in his chief work, Titan. (M 41034) _ _.
