Russian cosmonaut and physician Oleg Valer'evich Kotov (b. 1965) took part in training the crews for the space station Mir. In Apr. 2007 he traveled into space as commander of the spaceship Soyuz. He worked on board as an engineer for 196 days, spending 11 hours in open space.
