Named in honor of Anne Lorbach Herget, assistant at the Cincinnati Observatory since 1962 and wife of Paul Herget {see planet  (1751)}. She has been responsible for the assignment of provisional designations of minor planets and for key-punching almost all the material in the MPC’s, work that was accomplished to a high standard of accuracy.
