Egon Ranshofen-Wertheimer (1894-1957) was an Austrian lawyer, journalist and historian. For ten years he was a supervisor for the League of Nations in Geneva. In 1940 he emigrated to the U.S. and was involved in the establishment of the United Nations. The name was suggested by the first discoverer.
