Ján Hollý (1785–1849) was a famous Slovak classical poet, Catholic priest and member of the Slovak revival movement. He wrote epic ballads in Bernolák’s {see planet (13916)} language and used rules of antique poetry. His most important works are the translation of Virgil’s Aeneid and the first national epic Svätopluk {see planet (11014)}. (M 43193) _ _.
