Julie Kai Barreto (b. 1955) is an American artist and avid outrigger canoe paddler living on the Big Island of Hawaii with her husband, and namesake of the primary asteroid, Al Conrad. She was an attorney before retiring in 2011. Julie and Al have two children and have been together since they shared a European cycling adventure in the summer of 1977.
