Thomas H. Prettyman (b. 1964), a senior scientist with the Planetary Science Institute, led the gamma ray and neutron detector investigation on the Dawn mission to Vesta, revealing in situ a composition consistent with the HED meteorite class as well as an unexpected presence of hydrogen.
