Varese is “the city of gardens”, in a lake district with beautiful landscapes on the border of the Italian Alps, near four UNESCO monumental sites. On Mount Campo dei Fiori, just north of Varese, lies the Astronomical Observatory G. V. Schiaparelli, where this object was discovered.
