Named in honor of James W. Young, resident astronomer at the Table Mountain Observatory of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. In recent years he has obtained photoelectric lightcurves for more than 100 minor planets, thus contributing about a third of the currently known rotation rates. (M 9081) _ _.
