Founder in 1973 of the Minor Planets Section of the Association of Lunar and Planetary Observers, and Section Recorder for more than nine years, Hodgson has inspired many amateur astronomers around the world to make scientifically-valuable observations of minor planets. He continues, as a full-time teacher, to direct students toward minor-planet studies and other astronomical fields. (M 8801) _ _.
