Jan Kvíčala (1913–1972), Czech jurist and amateur astronomer, was a keen observer of variable stars and meteors, as well as coauthor of a gnomonic atlas for meteor observations. He received the František Nušl {see planet  (3424)} Award of the Czech Astronomical Society in 1940. (M 45343) _ _.
