With its altitude of 1214 metres above sea level, the Fichtelberg is the highest mountain on the Saxon side of the Erzgebirge {see planet  (8020)}. Oberwiesenthal, the highest situated German town, lies at the foot of the mountain. (M 46112) _ _.
