Named in memory of Peter Jekabsons (1943–1990), a gifted observer on the Perth staff for sixteen years. His astronomical paintings adorn the walls of the Observatory. His talents as an artist carried over into his scientific work, and he produced some of the Observatory’s best plates. (M 18644) _ _.
