Named in honor of Jean Mueller, observer for the Second Palomar Sky Survey with the 1.2-m Oschin Telescope at Palomar Observatory. She has made numerous discoveries of supernovae and earth-approaching asteroids in the course of this survey. (M 15576) _ _.
