The artistic Bavarian family Asam, father Hans Georg (1649-1711) and sons Cosmas Damian (1686-1739) and Egid Quirin (1692-1750), strongly influenced late Baroque and early Rococo architecture and sculpture in southern Germany. The Asams worked mainly as fresco painters, sculptors of stucco, and architects.
